at the lakeside
A man preparing for marriage travels with his mother, Kumiko, who never lets go of a stuffed animal she carries with her. They set out on a drive to a lakeside, but as always, tension quickly turns into an argument. As they continue their journey in silence, they eventually arrive at the lakeside where Kumiko once told Shota’s father that she was pregnant — where a long-hidden truth about her past begins to surface.
