The Japanese film studio “Warp Station Edo” serves as an impressive backdrop for numerous historical dramas. 64-year-old dental technician Haginoya approaches the studio to be hired as an extra in order to fulfill his great dream of becoming an actor – just like his idol Steve McQueen. Until he can follow in his footsteps with his first leading role, however, not only his own vanity but also demanding directors and the everyday madness on set stand in his way.
