Inuyashiki

2018

Decrepit milquetoast salaryman Inuyashiki, downtrodden at both home and work, finds out he is terminally ill—only to be reborn as an indestructible combat cyborg after an apparent alien encounter. High-schooler Shishigami (Satoh Takeru of the Rurouni Kenshin franchise) shares the same other-worldly fate, but while Inuyashiki uses his new superpowers to help people, Shishigami seeks to wreak havoc on humanity, setting the stage for an inevitable, epic showdown between the teenager and the senior citizen. This stunning adaptation of Oku Hiroya’s best-selling manga brings to life the flesh and blood of its characters and adds an ironic, genuinely original twist to the superhero genre.
