Our Own Bond, Anko!

Six years after leaving home, Aki returns to her parents’ house following the death of the family’s beloved dog, Anko. Reunited with her younger sister Haru, the two struggle to reconnect after years apart. Their father arrives with a dog that looks exactly like Anko, setting the family on an unexpected journey. As past and present intertwine, something long buried within the family begins to surface.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Aya Igashi 井樫 彩

Born in Hokkaido, Japan in 1996, Aya Igashi directed Tokeru (溶ける, 2016), which won awards at several film festivals in Japan and was officially selected for the Cinéfondation section of the 70th Cannes Film Festival. She made her theatrical debut with her first feature film, The Red Star (真っ赤な星, 2018). Her other works include 21st Century Girl (21世紀の女の子, 2019), NO CALL NO LIFE (2021), and the television drama O Maidens in Your Savage Season (荒ぶる季節の乙女どもよ。, 2022).
