The Man For

A man walks along the coastline, with a young woman following at a distance. They continue on in a delicate silence. As they draw closer, memories of his daughter’s birth and the time they shared come rushing back. The two eventually walk into a local diner, where the man finally recognizes the woman.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Takayuki Yamada 山田 孝之

Born in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, Takayuki Yamada made his acting debut in 1999 and won the Best Actor Award at the 42nd Television Drama Academy Awards for his leading role in the 2004 drama Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World (世界の中心で愛を叫ぶ). In addition to his acclaimed acting career, Yamada has worked as a producer and executive producer, including on the films Day and Night (デイアンドナイト, 2019) and the drama Saint Young Men (聖☆おにいさん). He has also performed in musical theater and is a co-founder of the short film project MIRRORLIAR FILMS.
