Tower of the Sun
The Tower of the Sun which was created by extraordinary artist Okamoto Taro and served as the symbol tower of the 1970 Osaka World Fair is the subject of this documentary. Along with project staff at the time, interviews are conducted with experts from many fields including art critics, archeologists, folklorists, philosophers, theologists, dancers, creators, etc. who talk about the charming qualities of the tower. Imagery visualizing keywords they mention are intermixed throughout which draw the viewer closer to Okamoto’s message for people alive today and in the future. Sekine Kosai, who has won high praise at home and abroad for the commercials he has created, directs.
