About the film festival

OAFF is one of the biggest film festivals in Japan with a focus on films produced in or related to Asia. Film screenings and special events are held every March for around 10 days in locations across the city of Osaka. Founded in 2005, it currently presents more than 50 films from around 20 countries and regions. Most of the films are either Japan premieres or international and world premieres. The programs are carefully selected and screened with the ethos of “films to see now” and they range from independent to commercial works, all without being restricted by genre. The festival is also dedicated to discovering new talent. Here you can experience the cultural currents of Asian cinema.
